Annual Maintenance Fees

A mature person mentoring a young person

ISC2 re-invests its revenue – including AMF – back into the association. AMF ensures the long-term viability of the association and its certifications, while also enabling us to provide benefits and value to members. Certified members and Associates of ISC2 also gain access to a wide array of valuable, rewarding professional development opportunities and membership benefits that deliver a robust return on this annual investment.

Certified Members AMF

ISC2 certified members pay a single AMF which is due each year upon the anniversary of their certification date. Members only pay a single AMF regardless of how many certifications they earn. AMF for members with multiple certifications are due on their earliest certification anniversary.

Annual Maintenance Fees FAQs

From certification to ongoing professional development to helping the next generation get into the field, ISC2 is making a difference. We can all be proud of what we are accomplishing together. Your AMFs not only ensure the long-term strength and prestige of the CISSP and other certifications, but also support our efforts to achieve our common goal of a safe and secure cyber world.

Because of your support, our association is the leading advocate for the cybersecurity profession, giving members a voice as regulations and policies are developed around the globe. Plus, we are dedicated to fostering a diverse, equitable and inclusive cybersecurity profession and are developing the tools and resources to help make that happen.

ISC2 also re-invests AMFs into the association. Your AMFs contribute to a wide array of valuable, rewarding professional development opportunities and member benefits, including:

Focusing on skills and career-long education

Expanding your professional network

Creating opportunity to make a difference and give back

  • ISC2 Volunteer Program
  • Participate as a scholarship reviewer in the scholarship program for ISC2’s charitable foundation, Center for Cyber Safety and Education
  • Act as an ISC2 ambassador for ISC2 Events planning committees to develop content and provide guidance

Finally, your AMFs ensure ISC2 certifications remain the most respected and sought-after cybersecurity qualifications in the world by supporting regular content review and refreshes for all exams; funding our global exam administration, delivery and security programs; maintaining the highest recognition such as ANAB ISO/IEC STANDARD, 17024 accreditation and U.S. DoD 8570.1 approval from the U.S. Department of Defense; and enabling processes like member endorsement, member verification, digital badging, CPE reporting and certification maintenance.

Together, our AMFs ensure the long-term health and vitality of our association and all we do to advance our profession.

ISC2 certified members pay a single Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF) due each year on their certification date anniversary. Members only pay a single AMF regardless of how many certifications they earn.

For members who hold the CISSP, SSCP, CCSP, CGRC, CSSLP, ISSAP, ISSEP or ISSMP, there is an AMF of U.S. $135.

For Associates of ISC2 and members who only hold our foundational Certified in Cybersecurity certification, the AMF is U.S. $50.

ISC2’s AMF structure supports the next generation of the cybersecurity workforce as they learn and grow with us. While Associates of ISC2 gain the experience needed to earn their certifications, and members who have earned the Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) build their cybersecurity careers, they contribute to our association through an AMF of U.S. $50. When Associates of ISC2 complete their endorsement and earn their certification, and when CC holders earn another ISC2 certification, they will be required to pay an AMF of U.S. $135.

All members and Associates of ISC2 are required to pay their AMF to support the costs of maintaining the ISC2 certifications and related support systems. Ongoing support of ISC2 certifications ensures members who earn them remain in high demand with employers around the world now and for years to come.

According to the ISC2 Emeritus policy, a member must pay a one-time application fee equal to three times the current certified member AMF. Current Emeritus members, who have already paid their fee, will not pay any additional fees.

After you earn the required experience to gain your certification, you will be required to pay the AMF of U.S. $135 to earn your certification. If you have already paid your U.S. $50 AMF as an Associate of ISC2 for the current annual fee, you will be required to pay the U.S. $85 difference between your Associate of ISC2 AMF and your new certified member AMF.

After you complete the application and endorsement process for your new certification, you will be required to pay the U.S. $135 to earn your certification. If you have already paid your U.S. $50 AMF as a Certified of Cybersecurity member for the current annual fee, you will be required to pay the U.S. $85 difference between your Certified in Cybersecurity AMF and your new certified member AMF.
