Six ISC2 cybersecurity examinations and official courses offer U.S. based members and candidates an opportunity to earn college credits upon successful completion.

ISC2 has been recognized by the American Council of Education (ACE)’s credit for prior learning (CPL) program which evaluates formal education courses and programs for college-level credit.

The acknowledged courses and exams are recommended for three credit hours each. This is the first year of eligibility for both the entry-level Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) and Governance, Risk and Compliance (CGRC) official courses, both were well received by the review team at ACE.

Standing out in the evaluations, two ISC2 examinations were acknowledged as Upper-Division Baccalaureate, considered to be third- and fourth-year collegiate levels: the CGRC and the Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP).

Recognition of Completion

To demonstrate completion, ISC2 members and candidates can claim their virtual badges via Credly. Serving much in the same way as a traditional college transcript, these credits could potentially be transferred to your choice of higher learning institute and count towards completion of a degree.
