Ahead of ISC2 Security Congress 2024, we take a closer look at and celebrate the winners of the awards and recognition given by ISC2 as part of this year’s Global Achievement Awards, as well as encouraging you to nominate deserving cybersecurity professionals for 2025.
CEO Awards
These awards recognize individuals who have made a significant impact on the cybersecurity community through their dedicated and exceptional efforts. They are the trailblazers and true change-makers whose intentions and actions have shaped enduring effects within the industry, leaving a legacy that extends for years to come.
- Dr. Bushra AlBlooshi, Director of Governance and Risk Management, Dubai Electronic Security Center – For her leading voice in cybersecurity and foresight into the future. Dr. Bushra AlBlooshi consistently calls attention and action on leading issues that are and will continue to impact the cybersecurity sector: harmonization of standards, focus on the workforce, the importance of gender diversity and the need for true global cooperation.
- David Koh, Chief Executive, Cyber Security Agency of Singapore – For his leadership as Singapore's first Commissioner of Cybersecurity and the founding Chief Executive of the Cyber Security Agency (CSA) of Singapore.David Koh is concurrently Chief (Digital Security & Technology) at the Ministry of Digital Development and Information. As Commissioner, he has the legal authority to investigate cyber threats and incidents to ensure that essential services are not disrupted in the event of a cyber-attack. As Chief Executive of CSA, he leads Singapore's efforts to provide dedicated and centralized oversight of national cyber security functions.
The Center Outstanding Volunteer Award
The Outstanding Volunteer Award recognizes an individual who has significantly contributed to the betterment of society and the cybersecurity community through the support of the Center for Cyber Safety and Education, the charitable foundation of ISC2. The Center’s mission is to grow the cybersecurity profession and its positive impact on the world by raising awareness, building a diverse pipeline of cybersecurity professionals and enabling a more secure digital world.
- Ameen Sharif, CISSP, CEO, ITnIS Consulting – In recognition of enduring commitment to the field of cybersecurity through extensive involvement with the Center of Cyber Safety and Education since its inception in 2014. Ameen Sharif has organized numerous Child Online Protection seminars and workshops across various schools, and served on various scholarship review committees, handling applications ranging from undergraduate to PhD levels, and has personally evaluated over 500 applications.
The Outstanding Partner Award
This award recognizes a company or organization for their support of the Center and its mission to grow the cybersecurity profession and its positive impact on the world by raising awareness, building a diverse pipeline of cybersecurity professionals, and activating a more secure digital world.
- ISC2 New Jersey Chapter – The New Jersey Chapter excelled in its commitment to advance the mission and vision of ISC2 with multiple programs and initiatives. The Chapter supported the needs of professionals, students and aspiring security professionals with monthly security knowledge sharing sessions, hosting successful in-person and virtual conferences, educating residents of senior centers on the latest cyber scams, mentoring dozens of chapter members through boot camps and study groups, providing scholarship programs, conducting various public speaking workshops and participating in community service events and activities, and providing funds and support to underprivileged communities.
ISC2 Chapter Recognition Awards
ISC2 Chapter Recognition Awards are presented to official chapters that best promote the vision of ISC2 by inspiring a safe and secure cyber world. Chapters must demonstrate a well-rounded offering of activities and services designed to benefit members and affiliates, while significantly contributing to the profession and local community through the ISC2 Chapter Program of Connect, Educate, Inspire and Secure.
- Asia-Pacific: Colombo, Sri Lanka Chapter – The Colombo, Sri Lanka Chapter has been an exemplary partner in advocating for ISC2 and the cybersecurity profession. The chapters’ activities focused on establishing connections and partnerships with government agencies and advocating to advance the vision and mission of ISC2. Chapter officers have served on multiple committees and advisory boards amplifying ISC2’s voice and influence. The chapter has been instrumental in delivering cybersecurity awareness, leading study groups and mentoring programs to government officers.
- EMEA: Hellenic Chapter – The ISC2 Hellenic Chapter has been sought after to deliver insights and thought leadership sessions in numerous industry events and conferences, positioning the chapter as an authoritative source of information for cybersecurity in their local community of professionals. Through training and security awareness sessions in schools and organizations, the chapter has inspired young professionals to go for the CC certification.
- Latin America: Guatemala Chapter – The Guatemala Chapter has experienced substantial growth in membership underscoring their expanding reach and impact within their cybersecurity community. One of their most notable accomplishments has been the success of the ISC2 scholarship program, resulting in progressing several of its members to an ISC2 certification, highlighting its commitment to making cybersecurity education accessible and impactful.
- North America: New Jersey Chapter – The New Jersey Chapter excelled in its commitment to advance the mission and vision of ISC2 with multiple programs and initiatives supporting current and aspiring cybersecurity professionals, students and members of the local community such as senior citizens in improving their cybersecurity awareness.
The ISC2 Inclusion Impact Award
Recognizing individuals who have made significant contributions to driving a more diverse workforce in the global cybersecurity community by initiating and leading actions to remove barriers and positively impact the cyber profession's diversity, equity and inclusion. ISC2 recognizes three regional and one global award recipient demonstrating a significant commitment and passion for increasing diversity, equity and inclusion across the global cybersecurity ecosystem.
- Americas: Francisca Boateng, Candidate of ISC2, Director of Operations, Slamm Technologies – For her exemplary and exceptional leadership proactively leading initiatives that promote DEI in cybersecurity and IT in general. Through scholarships, trainings, and nonprofit work, Francisca Boateng’s actions have resulted in the removal of barriers and the creation of opportunities for the underrepresented to thrive in this field.
- Asia-Pacific: Ricson Singson Que, CC, CEO, SQrity Consulting – Ricson Singson Que has been recognized for his visionary leadership, extensive expertise and dedication to enhancing cybersecurity in the Philippines which has solidified his position at the forefront of the field.
- EMEA: Zoé Cuisin, Head of Cybersecurity Governance, Risk & Compliance, Bouygues Construction – Zoé Cuisin receives this year’s award for leadership in uniting teams and driving them forward. Zoé is involved in local associations to promote gender diversity and encourages girls to embrace IT and Tech careers.
