ISC2's Hellenic Chapter – the largest community of cybersecurity professionals in Greece - has won a Gold Award at the recent BOUSSIAS-organized Cyber Security Awards .
The awards recognize cybersecurity organizations and businesses across Greece in various categories. The ISC2 Hellenic Chapter was recognized in the Cyber Security Team category, receiving its accolade for its ongoing, proactive response to global challenges in the cybersecurity domain, specifically:
- Providing accredited trainers locally for CISSP, CCSP, CSSLP and CC, resulting in a 20% increase in active membership during the year, helping to address shortages in the cybersecurity workforce
- Delivering noteworthy cybersecurity awareness by educating hundreds of students and parents in schools throughout Greece. Cybersecurity animated movies, co-produced by the Chapter and aimed at children and parents, reached 10,000 views
- Fostering a security culture and facilitating the development of professional skills; attendance by cybersecurity professionals at physical and remote thematic meetings increased by 80% compared to last year
- Translating the NIST Cybersecurity Framework v1.1 into Greek, now used by NIST on its site as the official translation
Notably, all of the Chapter's activities are voluntary, showcasing the commitment of Chapter members.
In its eight years of existence, the ISC2 Hellenic Chapter has emerged as a prominent voice in Greece's national cybersecurity landscape. With over 350 active members including highly esteemed professionals, the Chapter plays a pivotal role in supporting cybersecurity professionals, promoting the cybersecurity profession, fostering collaborations within the broader community, and contributing to the development of a security culture in the country.
The Chapter's actions have garnered both national and international recognition.
