Aryan Ayare CC wins Scholarship

Aryan Ayare, an ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) holder and IBM Qiskit Advocate, is turbo-charging his cybersecurity career with participation in a prestigious scholarship program. Ayare is among 14 recipients of the European Union’s Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree (EMJM) scholarship for the cybersecurity-focused CyberMACS Master of Science.

EMJM scholarships recognize high-achieving students and professionals who undergo a rigorous selection process. Ayare, who credits his CC certification for helping him win the scholarship, plans to attend Kadir Has University (KHAS) in Istanbul starting in September. He will spend the second year of the program at SRH University of Applied Sciences in Berlin.

Ayare was one of 1,321 applicants from 181 countries for the scholarship, which covers tuition, travel, living and healthcare costs, as well as a monthly stipend. He called the award an important personal and professional milestone.

“Personally, it validates the years of dedication I’ve poured into research—such as my work on the EduLedger blockchain framework,” he said. “Professionally, this allows me to focus entirely on advanced research in applied cybersecurity across top European institutions. It grants me a global stage to collaborate on sovereign security solutions within the international community.

Besides earning a CC, Ayare has completed an EC-Council Fellowship and more than 15 Google certifications. He also contributes to the open-source Qiskit quantum computing ecosystem as an IBM Qiskit Advocate.

His cybersecurity journey began while earning a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering degree at Savitribai Phule Pune University in Pune, India. He says a pivotal moment in his cybersecurity career occurred when he was interning at Innovascape LLP, where he was tasked with securing Raspberry Pi-based industrial systems. That’s when the true role of cybersecurity came into focus for him.

“Implementing a SCADA system for secure IoT communication made me realize that cybersecurity isn't just about code, it’s about protecting the infrastructure that keeps society running. This experience pushed me to specialize in the intersection of emerging tech and security.”

CC Provides Career Building Blocks

Earning the CC was “transformative” for Ayare, helping to set the foundation for his career. “It provided me with a standardized, globally recognized framework for security principles, incident response, and network security. It served as the bridge between my academic studies and professional credibility. As I enter the CyberMACS program, my ISC2 background ensures I have the ethical grounding and operational vocabulary to excel in high-level academic discourse.”

As he prepares to embark on his Erasmus journey, Ayare advises other aspiring cybersecurity professionals to adopt a T-shaped growth model. “Develop a broad understanding of security fundamentals – like those in the ISC2 CC – while diving deep into a niche interest, whether it’s AI, Quantum, or Blockchain.”

He stressed the value of certifications and scholarships. “Never underestimate the power of validation. Scholarships and certifications are not just accolades, they are keys that open doors to global conversations. Invest in your education early, stay curious, and always look for ways to use your skills for "techno-social" good.”
