Cybersecurity management continues to advance, driving stronger and more resilient information security programs. As an Information Systems Security Management Professional (ISSMP), your expertise and leadership play a crucial role in empowering organizations—ensuring effective oversight of critical security functions and guiding successful incident response and recovery.

As your role evolves, so do ISC2 examinations. To keep the ISSMP exam accurate, relevant, and exceptional, we invite you to share your expertise through the Job Task Analysis (JTA) study. This collaborative process ensures that the exam reflects real-world practices and the critical knowledge and skills that define success in the field.

Your input helps shape the future of ISSMP certification and strengthens the profession for everyone. We are asking for individuals who hold the ISSMP to review the current ISSMP exam outline and consider the following questions:

  1. Do you believe that the current ISSMP exam outline adequately covers the existing and emerging cybersecurity techniques and threats ISSMP practitioners are facing in their jobs today?
  2. If not, what sort of topics/content should be added to the ISSMP exam outline?
  3. What content currently on the ISSMP exam outline is no longer relevant to today’s professionals?

To respond, send an email to ISSMPjta@isc2.org no later than February 12, 2026. Please include your member ID # in your email. Response will be compiled and presented to the JTA Committee to be used to support an ISSMP JTA Workshop, tentatively scheduled for February 24 - 26, 2026.

Your engagement is much appreciated and qualifies for CPE credit. Be sure to submit this exercise via the CPE portal to earn credit for participating in this essential activity.
