On October 1, 2025, the format of the CC examination will transition to the Computer Adaptive Testing (CAT) - the same format used for the CISSP exam. The CAT format is a computerized delivery of exam items uniquely tailored to the ability of an individual candidate. Unlike the current fixed-form linear exam, adaptive testing delivers items based on the demonstrated ability of a candidate during the exam. This improves the security of the examination by limiting item exposure. It also provides a more efficient method of evaluating a candidate’s understanding of the exam material, as the exam adapts to each test-taker's performance.
While the exam format is changing, those currently preparing to sit for the CC do not need to make any adjustments to their study patterns or exam day preparations. The content of the CC exam outline is not changing, and neither should the way candidates show up on exam day.

- Access your training and register for your exam
- While studying, connect with your peers in the CC study group.
- Exam day sign in and testing
- Be sure you are exam day ready, arrive at least 30 minutes early with the proper identification.
- Become an ISC2 Member
- Once you have passed your exam and submitted your certification application, a $50 Annual Maintenance Fee is required to become a member.
