The U.K.’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) will hold its annual conference in May. ISC2 will join government, industry, practitioners, academics and other stakeholders in Manchester looking to tackle the most pressing cybersecurity challenges facing the nation.
As one of the foremost U.K. events for government cybersecurity, CYBERUK has been an opportunity for the industry and policymakers to convene and discuss the current challenges and opportunities in the field. ISC2 will be attending CYBERUK to participate on behalf of members and continue our extensive cybersecurity advocacy work in the U.K. with policymakers.
Organized by the NCSC, this year’s conference will take place in Manchester, a major U.K. tech hub, between 6-8 May, 2025, with a theme of “Transforming Resilience, Countering Threats”, with a call for the industry to play a greater part in building further on the U.K.’s globally recognized cybersecurity expertise, cyber resilience and its national cybersecurity strategy.
This Year’s Conference Agenda
For security reasons, specific speaker details are not always available ahead of time, but the two conference days (7-8 May) will feature several key sessions, including government ministerial speakers, leaders from key U.K. public bodies, vendor and industry body representatives and international public and private sector speakers sharing their knowledge and experience.
Announced speakers include:
- Richard Horne, CEO of the NCSC
- Rod Latham, Director for Cyber Security and Digital Identity, Department for Science, Innovation and Technology
- John Edwards, Information Commissioner, Information Commissioner's Office

In addition to the daily plenary sessions, CYBERUK will have four distinct conference streams. Stream A will cover national resilience, Stream B focuses on transforming technology, Stream C looks at threats and seizing the initiative from adversaries, with Stream D dedicated to skills and transforming the cybersecurity ecosystem, sponsored by ISC2.
ISC2 at CYBERUK
As part of ISC2’s participation, we will be leading a panel within Stream D that is closely aligned with the overall theme of this year’s conference, discussing how collaboration can counter the growing cyber threat facing organizations. Led by Ed Parsons, Vice President of Global Markets and Member Relations at ISC2, the panel will bring together:
- Katie Gallagher OBE, Managing Director at Manchester Digital
- Cian Galvin, Head of Cyber Skills and Profession at the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology
- Fiona Bail, Detective Chief Inspector – Head of Cyber Path at the National Cyber Resilience Centre Group
- Professor Daniel Prince, Professor of Cyber Security at Lancaster University
Together, the panel will explore cross-sector collaboration, including partnerships and other initiatives that have delivered measurable impact, particularly in skills and workforce development. The panel will consider how the U.K. can enhance its cybersecurity posture, foster innovation and create a safer, more inclusive digital future for individuals and organizations alike.
ISC2’s session will take place on Thursday, 8th May 2025 at 12:30 p.m. BST (7:30 a.m. ET). If you're attending CYBERUK in-person, be sure to visit the ISC2 team at Stand E1.
A selection of CYBERUK sessions will also be livestreamed via the event’s YouTube channel.
