If you’re looking to demonstrate – or elevate – your cloud security knowledge, but not quite ready for the CCSP certification, ISC2 has you covered. Launched recently, ISC2 has refreshed its three Essentials of Cloud courses with updated educational content. If you complete all three courses and corresponding assessments, you will earn the Essentials of Cloud Certificate and Credly digital badge.

Cloud Security Skills Remain a Hot Commodity

Cloud Security skills ranked second when we asked cybersecurity professionals what skills are most in-demand and ranked fifth for hiring managers. According to the Cloud Skills Report, 98% of global organizations are facing a cloud skills gap. Additionally, one-third of respondents indicated that the cloud skills gap was causing restriction of cloud usage, and 41% reported that they had experienced application performance issues/outages due to that shortage. An additional 38% reported that KPIs had been missed due to the cloud skills gap.

Essentials of Cloud Courses

All three updated Essentials of Cloud courses are designed to be foundational and contain approximately 5 hours of content. The courses are worth between 4-6 Group A CPE credits and are priced between $160-$240 each for ISC2. ISC2 members and Associates save 20% as a benefit of their membership.

The courses are:

  • Cloud Basics: Become familiar with the essential cloud concepts and principles, including key drivers for use, essential characteristics and service and deployment models within cloud architecture.
  • Moving to the Cloud: Learn about the strategic and security considerations necessary to transition your organization from on-premises to cloud computing in alignment with business needs.
  • Working in the Cloud: Understand the range of challenges security professionals face as they work to utilize, optimize and secure critical assets in the cloud.
