Do you mentor the next generation? Do you know a college student pursuing a cybersecurity career? Encourage aspiring cybersecurity professionals to apply for one of 54 scholarships totaling $115,000 from the Center for Cyber Safety and Education before February 29, 2024!

Students are urged to apply for undergraduate, graduate and women’s scholarships as they pursue their information security or related degrees in the fall of 2024 and have at least a 3.3 GPA on a 4.0 scale. The Center for Cyber Safety and Education evaluates applicants based on academic excellence, passion for the cybersecurity industry, and financial need. ISC2 and KnowBe4 are among the partners supporting the Center’s scholarship program.

"These scholarships ease the financial burden for students as they begin their careers," said Holly Schneider Brown, Center Senior Director. “We are so thankful to our financial partners who invest in the next generation of cybersecurity professionals. New this year, we are proud to honor the legacy of Samantha Jennings-Jones with a scholarship in her memory. Samantha was a dedicated public servant and expert in cybersecurity who was a key member of the team that drafted the National Cybersecurity Strategy for the White House Office of the National Cyber Director. The scholarship fund, created in 2023, has raised more than $50,000 from 150 supporters, colleagues, friends and family who are committed to preserving her memory and financially assisting women seeking to start or advance their career in cybersecurity."

In addition to the financial award for school, recipients can pursue the Certified in Cybersecurity certification exam for free through the ISC2 One Million Certified in Cybersecurity program which will help launch their new career. Becoming a member of ISC2 provides the scholarship recipients an opportunity to connect with other cybersecurity professionals, participate in educational sessions such as webinars and events, and receive information about internships and career opportunities within the community.

Scholarships truly make a difference in the lives of the recipients, including Kwadjo Nyante who, thanks in part to his scholarship, was able to earn multiple master’s degrees and his CISSP before eventually becoming a CISO. Hear more about Kwadjo’s journey to cybersecurity. Plus hear directly from some of our other scholarship recipients in this brief appreciation video.

“Receiving the ISC2 Undergraduate in Cybersecurity Scholarship is an esteemed honor and a valuable opportunity for me,” said Rachel Pao, 2023 scholarship recipient. “This scholarship demonstrates recognition of my commitment to cybersecurity, provides financial support for my studies, connects me to a network of professionals and resources, allows me to attain highly valuable cyber certifications and enhances my growth in the field. I am so grateful to have this scholarship and look forward to being a part of the ISC2 family.”
