ISC2 Volunteer Content Contributor
Purpose
The goal is to create concise, immediately applicable continuing education content for ISC2 members. This program leverages SME expertise to provide learning resources and supports ISC2’s mission to advance cybersecurity knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Submit an application form.
- Develop original content (video or text) based on the approved proposal.
- Collaborate with an instructional designer for formatting and delivery.
- Provide references for all course materials.
- Adhere to deadlines and communication standards as outlined in the contract.
ISC2 Membership Requirement
Volunteer content contributors must be active ISC2 members in good standing.
Skills Required
- Professional experience relevant to proposed content area
- Ability to create concise, accurate, and practical content
- Punctuality and dependability
- Strong written/verbal communication skills
- Comfort appearing on camera and possession of an appropriate backdrop environment (e.g., a quiet office with strong wi-fi)
- Ability to create strong engagement and best-in-class presentations on cybersecurity topics
Training
No previous experience is required. Access will be provided to authoring resources; there will be a video walkthrough of project collaboration space.
Time Requirement
Five to 10 hours per project; 1 to 2-hour application process; 4 to 8 hours of content development after approval.
Travel Requirement
None. All participation is virtual.
Start/End Date
There are rolling opportunities with project timelines assigned upon approval.
CPE Credit(s)
CPE credits are earned for approved contributions (maximum 20 CPEs per contribution).
CPE Submission Process
- Activity logs maintained in the project collaboration space
- Hours verified by ISC2 based on logged activity
- Official processing completed by the PD team
