The cybersecurity profession is a dynamic environment confronted with new risks and challenges across the globe every day. The technical expertise of a qualified workforce is vital to securing our collective defense, but the future of cybersecurity also depends on more inclusive decision-making that embraces unique perspectives. To help organizations worldwide build more resilient and inclusive teams, ISC2 has introduced its Inclusive Workforce Sustainability Strategy.

“ISC2’s Inclusive Workforce Sustainability Strategy guides our members, professionals, organizations and educators in building a highly skilled and globally inclusive cybersecurity workforce. It begins with ISC2 employees and strives to build a culture that supports a welcoming membership and cybersecurity community for all,” said Dwan Jones, Director of Inclusive Strategies and Engagement at ISC2. “Together we can help shape a safe and secure cyber world where everyone has a role in securing our future.”

The strategy covers the following strategic pillars:

  1. Expand and Reframe the Talent Pool: Support the ecosystem to enhance its ability to actively recruit and nurture skilled talent while increasing the awareness of cybersecurity as a career.
  2. Enhance Global Collaboration and Partnerships: Work collaboratively with local and global organizations, educational institutions, industry, and governments to advance cybersecurity, we will help foster an inclusive culture.
  3. Enable Sustained Talent Progression and Leadership Readiness: Ensure access to education and training for qualified individuals to empower them to continuously grow and adapt.
  4. Build Belonging by Design: Cultivate inclusive work environments where all professionals feel empowered to contribute, innovate, and thrive by embedding principles of fairness, access, and collaborative growth.
