Board of Directors Candidates

The 2025 Open Call for Nominations for members to stand for election to the ISC2 Board of Directors for the 2026-28 term has concluded. We would like to thank everyone who participated. We received 192 applications that met the basic requirements for consideration.

After carefully evaluating all the applications against the published job description, the Nominations Committee selected 10 individuals for interviews during the weekend of March 28-30, 2025. From this group, the Nominations Committee recommended five candidates to the Board of Directors for consideration in the election. 

ISC2 members are eligible to vote for four candidates to serve on the 2026-28 ISC2 Board of Directors. To be eligible to vote, you must be in good standing on the date of the election notice (January 24, 2025) and on the date the election begins (July 9, 2025). 

Additional voting details will be sent via email to eligible members on July 2, 2025.

The election will commence on July 9 and will close on July 23, 2025.

We encourage you to get to know the candidates by reading their biographies and watching their videos, which are all listed below, before casting your votes. Make your voice heard by participating in the 2025 Board of Directors election.

Laurie-Anne Bourdain

Laurie-Anne is Chief Information Security Officer for a university hospital in Brussels. She focuses on Governance, Risk and Compliance topics and in an expert in compliance implementation with European regulations such as NIS2, DORA or the GDPR. 

In her first term as a director of ISC2, Laurie-Anne worked on updating the bylaws or the organization, improving the nomination process, increasing the impact of local chapters and developing better board governance. If elected for a second term, she would like to continue working on the bylaws, to ensure they remain up to date with US standards, and improving board governance and business practices. 

In addition, Laurie-Anne is involved in several activities, both locally in Belgium (such as with the Belgian Cyber Security Coalition, where she co-chairs the GRC focus group or as a trainer for the Cyber Security Awareness and Culture Manager certifying training; or as a founding member of the Belgium Chapter of Women4Cyber) and internationally with ISC2 where she was an exam development volunteer, with the Center for Cyber Safety and Education, and with the IAPP where she is part of the CIPP/E exam development board. 

Laurie-Anne has more than 15 years of experience in information security, risk management and data protection. She mostly focused on Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC), awareness and training, and internal advice activities along her career.  

She previously was a consultant within EY where she led the privacy practice for Belgium (non-banking sector), and Senior Privacy Manager at Sony Europe Electronics; in both positions she helped companies implementing the requirements of GDPR: from identification of personal data to design of documentation and handling of data subjects’ requests.   

She also was a Data Protection Officer and Information Security Officer for a FinTech active in the BeNeFraLux (Belgium, Netherlands, France & Luxembourg area), and Non-Financial Risk Officer and Information Technology Process Manager at ING Belgium, working on compliance with upcoming and ongoing laws and regulations, handling of data, training internal personnels and customers, and ensuring good security practices are followed. 

Chitra Dharmarajan

Chitra Dharmarajan, CISSP, CCSP, NACD.DC is a dynamic cybersecurity executive with expertise in building high-performing global teams and driving enterprise-wide security transformations. She excels in risk management, governance, and strategic decision-making, with a proven track record in M&A, due and secure-by-design strategies. Specializing in Privacy Engineering, Product Security, and AI-driven solutions, she has extensive experience across Network, Cloud, Application, and Container Security.

Chitra is passionate about empowering teams and fostering innovation to achieve impactful, scalable results.

In addition to her executive roles, Chitra is a dedicated startup advisor, guiding emerging companies in navigating the complexities of cybersecurity. Her contributions to the field have been recognized through numerous awards and accomplishments, highlighting her leadership and impact in the cybersecurity domain. 

A graduate of the Executive Program for CISO at Carnegie Mellon University, she is poised to leverage her industry expertise, strategic vision, and governance experience to shape the future of cybersecurity and drive lasting organizational impact. Chitra has successfully completed National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) - Directorship Certification demonstrating her commitment to governance leadership, personal development, as well as her commitment to leading oversight of organizations today and in the future.

Mari Galloway

Mari, a best-selling author and cyber professional, is the CEO and a founding board member for the Women's Society of Cyberjutsu (WSC), one of the fastest growing 501(c)3 non-profit cybersecurity communities dedicated to bringing more women and girls to cyber. WSC provides its members with the resources and support required to enter and advance as cybersecurity professionals. 

Mari began her career with Accenture, where she excelled as a Network Engineer. Mari is also a 2023 Presidential Lifetime Award winner and the inaugural ISC2 Diversity Award winner for 2019. With over 15 years in IT and Cyber, her experience spans network design and security architecture, risk assessments, vulnerability management, incident response, and policy development across government and commercial industries. 

She holds various technical and management certifications (CISSP, GIAC, CCNA, etc.), a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from Columbus State University, and a Master of Science in Information Systems from Strayer University. 

Mari is currently a Las Vegas resident and CEO of a Cybersecurity Consulting company.  

She regularly contributes content to security blogs and training companies nationwide and is an Adjunct Professor for UMGC and Linkedin Learning Instructor. She also lends her time to various organizations as an award judge, mentor, and advisor. Outside of being a geek, Mari enjoys travel, arts, puzzles, and Lego!

David Mussington

David is an award-winning cybersecurity and critical infrastructure security expert, renowned for his extensive US and international experience in cyber policy, risk management and physical security. His experience includes service in the public and private sectors, with senior positions in the US Government and in the transportation and financial services sectors, as well as in private consulting.   

David also worked at RAND Corporation, the Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA), and is a periodic speaker at professional organizations and think tanks in the US and EU. He is currently an academic, serving as Professor of the Practice at the University of Maryland College Park. He conducts research and teaching on cybersecurity policy, risk management, and artificial intelligence.  

In his last governmental role, David was the executive assistant director for Infrastructure Security at the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. In this role he ran a division made up of over 320 employees with an annual budget of over $175 million. Earlier in his career David served on the US (White House) National Security Council as Director for Surface Transportation Security Policy and was senior advisor for cyber policy at the Office of the Secretary of Defense. 

David is passionate about cybersecurity in society and critical infrastructure interdependence. He is doubly concerned about the skills and awareness gap that impedes public understanding of cyber risks and their implications for the economy and national security. He views ISC2 as having a key role – acting on behalf of the profession to translate specialist knowledge into concepts better understood by the general public. He sees this as a necessity in each of the countries where ISC2 members and associates reside.   

He holds B.A and M.A. degrees in Economics and Political Science from the University of Toronto, and a PhD in Political Science from Canada’s Carleton University. In 2021 David was elected a life member in the Council on Foreign Relations.

James Packer

Guy Ngambeket brings over 16 years of experience in Strategy and Transformation, with a strong focus on Digital, AI, and Cybersecurity. He currently serves as Secretary of the ISC2 Board and chairs the Succession Planning Committee.

Throughout his time on the Board, Guy has contributed to several committees, including Nomination, Audit, Bylaws, CEO Compensation, Ethics, and the Strategy Taskforce. His involvement has supported ISC2 through key organizational changes aimed at improving service to members and strengthening the association’s global impact.

He has worked across Africa, Europe, North America, and the Middle East, gaining practical insight into regional cybersecurity challenges and opportunities. His international experience has helped him better understand and widely engage with ISC2’s diverse member base across several geographies. 

Guy is a Certified Corporate Director, having earned the certification from the US National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD.DC), and holds multiple professional certifications, including CISSP, CISM, CISA, CGEIT, PMP, ITIL, and PSM. 

He holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from London Business School (United Kingdom) and is a computer science engineer.

He has written and contributed to several cybersecurity publications, including a report focused on the state of cybersecurity in Africa, highlighting regional trends, risks, and the need for capacity building. He also regularly participates in industry events as a speaker or moderator, such as at CYSEC Global and to ISC2 chapters led webinars and events. 

Originally from Cameroon and currently based in Qatar, Guy speaks French and English. He values time with his family (wife and 2 daughters), enjoys travel, and has a strong interest in learning from different cultures.
