Manufaktur IT and (ISC)²®  Agreement to Enhance Development of cyber and IT security skills in Germany with Internationally recognized professional certifications

  • Cologne-based consultancy to combine personal coaching with five-day classroom courses - first session for CISSP® December 11th to 15th
  • Agreement part of nonprofit (ISC)² effort to address severe shortage of qualified talent, forecast at 350,000 by 2022 for Europe (1,8 million globally) *
  • 55% of DACH region professionals report too few professionals on their teams today.

London/Cologne, July 20, 2017(ISC)²® (“ISC-squared”), an international nonprofit membership association with more than 120,000 certified members worldwide and Manufaktur IT GmbH are pleased to announce their agreement to offer professional coaching and training in cybersecurity leading to (ISC)² certifications, including the internationally renowned Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP®).  Under the agreement, Manufaktur IT is recognised by (ISC)² as an “Official Training Provider” to deliver the five-day classroom based courses developed by (ISC)² in German. The training, to be supported by personalized coaching, opens new opportunities for German cyber and ICT professionals interested in pursing professional certification at a time when 60 percent of hiring managers in the DACH region are planning to increase their IT security skills and dedicated cybersecurity teams.

Manufaktur IT is developing its training portfolio in response to its clients’ demands for internationally recognized qualifications. (ISC)2 certifications confirm comprehensive professional knowledge in the critical areas needed to develop and protect systems and data in current business and working environments. They also confirm a commitment to continuing education – helping professionals, IT staff and their employers keep pace with ever-changing requirements.

“We are building a training capacity in response to demands from our customers who need help in developing the skills they need alongside the services we support them with in our consultancy practice, “ says  Manu Carus,  managing director and founder of Manufaktur IT. “There is a real appetite to develop standard practices and international certifications like the CISSP to deliver the understanding needed to do this by reflecting very current knowledge.”

The demand for skilled and qualified cybersecurity professonals is increasing globally. The 2017 Global Information Security Workforce Study, conducted by Frost & Sullivan for the Center for Cybersafety and Education, and sponsored by (ISC)², reports that 70 percent of organizations in the DACH region  are shortstaffed today as their organizations struggle to find the right people, and 60 percent look to expand their teams this year.

Cologne-based Manufaktur IT advises large and mid-sized companies in the fields of information security management, security audits, security solutions, assessments and pentests. (ISC)² certifications will now be offered in its training portfolio, which also includes ISACA certifications. All courses are led by Manu Carus, who is a published author and is certified as an official instructor for (ISC)². Scheduled in-person training courses are complemented by an individualized coaching itinerary for participants in advance of the course. Each of the five-day sessions are taught in German, limited to 15 participants and based on (ISC)² materials that are regularly updated in consultation with (ISC)²’s global membership through a process called Job Task Analysis.

“We work to give every participant the time and support they need through the coaching and make the most out of the intensive five days  we have together by getting everyone on the same level before we get started in the classroom,” explains Carus.

Faisal Malik, head of Business & Market Development for EMEA at (ISC)² says: “We are pleased to join forces with Manufaktur IT to offer a new option and more access to focused training for people preparing for professional certification examinations. Our aim is to help government and companies develop much needed resilience against cyberattacks by enhancing the standard of practice understood by the people that are protecting them.”

Registration is open with the first (ISC)² course, for CISSP, scheduled to take place near Cologne in Bergisch Gladbach from December 11th to 15th. A further four sessions are planned from January 2018. For more information and to register interest, visit: https://www.manufaktur-it-training.de/cissp
