(ISC)² Opens Application Period for 2017 Graduate Information Security Scholarships
Program Aims to Provide Research Funding
and Tuition Assistance to Graduate Students
Clearwater FL, March 2, 2017 — (ISC)²® is accepting applications for its 2017 Graduate Information Security Scholarship program. The application period began on February 28, and closes at 11:59 p.m. EDT on May 4, 2017.
The (ISC)² Graduate Information Security Scholarship program is administered by the Center for Cyber Safety and Education™. This program was created to help graduate students get the funding needed to conduct special research projects or assistance with tuition and fees. Multiple scholarships of up to US$5,000 will be awarded. International applicants are accepted.
“Given the shortage in the industry, it’s crucial to provide pathways into information security,” said Patrick Craven, director, Center for Cyber Safety and Education. “Our scholarship program provides one pathway for students to complete their studies and continue on to careers. I look forward to awarding deserving students with the funding they need to conduct research projects as well as for tuition assistance.”
The Center evaluates applicants based on academic excellence, passion for the
industry and financial need. Launched in 2003, the (ISC)² Graduate Scholarship
program has made a lasting impact on these individuals:
"It is an honor to be recognized as
worthy of this prestigious award by such a respected leader in information
security,” said Jade Bryant, 2016 graduate scholarship recipient, USA. “Receiving
a scholarship from the Center for Cyber Safety and Education means much more to
my career than the needed financial support I’m receiving to help cover the
costs of my graduate education. Being a recipient of this award alongside other
outstanding students is empowering, and motivation to continue striving to make
my best efforts even better in my pursuit of success in the cybersecurity
career field."
“This scholarship fuels my passion for meaningful contributions towards the shared vision of making the cyberspace safer for boundless opportunities,” said Anthony Moyegun, 2016 graduate scholarship recipient, Nigeria. “It supports my academic and professional quests, and inspires my desire to explore every opportunity to research, gain practical work experience, and succeed in an interdisciplinary Ph. D. program in information security in the future.”
“This scholarship made a difference to me, instead of having to choose the least expensive option for my masters studies, I was able to pursue an InfoSec program that I am most excited about,” said Alen Ilic, 2016 graduate scholarship recipient, Serbia. “Thank you so much, (ISC)²!”
