Keynote on Croatias National Strategy to kick off Agenda at (ISC)² Secure Croatia
Unique Forum Brings Together Cyber and Information Security Professionals to Discuss Current Priorities and Risks
Zagreb, Croatia: 28 November, 2016 – The Croatian government plans to address cyber and information security professionals at Secure Croatia, December 15 2016, covering its country’s plans to manage cyber risks. Vinko Kuculo, senior advisor at the Office of the National Security Council in Croatia, and Croatia’s representative on several European Union and NATO committees, will deliver the opening keynote titled: Croatian Strategy Towards Cybersecurity.
Secure Croatia will be co-hosted by the Croatian Chamber of Economy, and is organised by (ISC)²® (“ISC-squared”), the largest nonprofit membership body of certified information and software security professionals worldwide with more than 120,000 members internationally. The objective of the conference is to provide an important platform for open discussions, networking and sharing of current experiences in meeting the daily challenges faced by the people tasked with protecting companies, governments and organisations in the battle against growing levels of cyber risk. (ISC)² and the (ISC)² Croatia Chapter have pulled together broad industry support including partners EuroCloud Croatia, OWASP and the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) to highlight the challenges around the theme of Securing the Virtual Organisation.
Topics featured on the agenda range from a progress report on how companies are managing the requirement to comply (by May 2018) with the EU’s new General Data Protection Regulation, to the use of machine learning for cyber defence, tactics for improving security awareness, and strategic considerations for a heavily virtualized organization.
“It is our ambition to establish a platform where information security professionals can learn from each other as they share their experiences of working in a world where the risks to organizations are changing at an excelerating pace. We are pleased to be coming to Zagreb and look forward to welcoming all who feel they can benefit from the experience,” says Dr. Adrian Davis, CISSP, Managing Director (ISC)² EMEA region, who will be chairing the proceedings on December 15.
“This first-ever (ISC)² Secure Event in Croatia is an exciting and much-needed opportunity to help the local community come together around the key issues that are challenging not just our organizations but also our society, while facilitating an opportunity to work together for the future,” says Biljana Cerin, president (ISC)² Croatia Chapter and director of Ostendo Consulting.
Secure Croatia will be hosted in the Grand Ballroom at the Sheraton Zagreb Hotel, Ul. kneza Borne 2, Zagreb 10000 Croatia, 9:00 to 18:00. For more information and to register, please visit the event website.
