HCISPP (ISC)² Board of Directors Elect 2016 Officers
International team of security professionals elected to lead governing membership body;
Wim Remes elected chair for second time in three years
Clearwater, FL, January 25, 2016 — (ISC)²® (“ISC-squared”) today announced the newly elected officers for its Board of Directors. The 13-member board provides governance and oversight for the organization, grants certifications to qualifying candidates and enforces adherence to the (ISC)² Code of Ethics.
Effective January 23, 2016, the following individuals assumed board officer positions:
• Chairperson:
Wim Remes, CISSP (Belgium)
• Vice Chairperson:
Steven Hernandez, CISSP, CAP, SSCP, CSSLP, HCISPP (USA)
• Treasurer:
Flemming Faber, CISSP (Denmark)
• Secretary:
Jennifer Minella, CISSP (USA)
“Firstly, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the outgoing chair of the Board of Directors Prof. Corey Schou, for all of his volunteer efforts to strengthen (ISC)² and for his ongoing commitment to advancing the profession,” said (ISC)² CEO David Shearer. “He led a momentous update to the organization’s bylaws last year, which required him to transition off the board on December 31, 2015. I also thank Diana-Lynn Contesti and Dave Lewis, whose board terms ended in December, for their contributions. I echo Prof. Schou’s new people with fresh ideas approach that led to the board’s new term limits and welcome the 2016 board officers. I look forward to working with the new officers over the next year as they help us advance the vision of (ISC)² to inspire a safe and secure cyber world.”
The members of the (ISC)² Board of Directors are elected through a voting process each year among the organization’s global membership. The board is comprised of (ISC)²-certified volunteers who are industry leaders from around the globe representing business, government and academia.
