ISC2 will hold its second annual Global Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Summit in the U.K. July 2-3rd. This year’s theme, “Perspectives” will explore how understanding and elevating varying points of view is the key to a thriving and sustainable cybersecurity profession. Partnering with two different universities, the two-day event will provide an opportunity for diversity, equity and inclusion leaders to network with fellow attendees including cybersecurity students and professionals from all experience levels and backgrounds to learn from more than 20 different speakers representing a variety of global locations and professional backgrounds.

On the first day, partnering with CSE Connect at The Advances in Cyber Security Education 2024 Conference located at the University of the West of England, the event will bring together stakeholders from schools, colleges, universities, government agencies, industry, and academia to explore the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in cyber security education. This conference serves as a platform for networking, learning, and collaboration among cyber security professionals and educators.

ISC2 Employability Workshop on June 2nd sessions include:

  1. Get YOUR Cyber Role! Part 1: This session will provide an overview of entry-level job roles and how to map your skills and interests to the perfect cyber role.
  2. Get YOUR Cyber Role! Part 2: This session will provide insights to the combined importance of knowledge, adaptability, integrity experience, growth, certifications, a professional network, and an ability to resonate with a desired organisation.
  3. The Cybersecurity Technical Professional: In this session, participants will learn about the challenges and opportunities facing those looking to pursue a cybersecurity career and those already in the sector, based on data and insights from the ISC2 Global Workforce Study.
  4. Inspirational Talk from Young Cyber Pro: In this session, participants will join a young cyber professional as they share their career experiences and describe challenges and opportunities in the profession.

Kicking off the second day of the ISC2 Global Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Summit located at the University of East London, attendees will gain an enhanced understanding of how we can work cohesively to contribute to the achievement of our shared vision of fostering and advancing a diverse, equitable and inclusive cyber world. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from the UK Cyber Security Council Board of Trustees Chair Dr. Claudia Natanson, MBE. A panel on the Talent Pipeline Perspective including an MSc Info. Security and Digital Forensics student, a cybersecurity specialist with Microsoft and a U.S. Navy Veteran will discuss the challenges that diverse talent face in securing their first job and how the cyber ecosystem can help to break down barriers to entry and contribute to their success throughout their careers.
