SECURE London 2022

With a focus on the most topical issues impacting organizations of all sizes, ISC2 SECURE London is a valuable opportunity for members and other cybersecurity professionals from across the U.K. to come together, hear from experts across a variety of fields, network with peers and explore the issues impacting their cybersecurity world. Attending ISC2 SECURE London can also earn you up to six CPE credits.

This year’s ISC2 SECURE London event is covering a multitude of cybersecurity themes and issues, with a particular emphasis on four key areas of critical cybersecurity concern today:

  • Governance, Risk and Compliance
  • Cloud Security
  • Cybersecurity Leadership
  • Artificial Intelligence

This year’s opening keynote session is by Dr Saritha Arunkumar, IBM Public Cloud Worldwide Technical Leader for Security, who will discuss the challenges of trying to prepare for cyber challenges we can’t predict. From gaining better insight into the governance, risk and compliance (GRC) of an organization to ensuring that best practices and a healthy security culture exist, Dr Arunkumar will share valuable insights on the importan

ce of GRC in the cloud and beyond, and why it’s vital for business leaders to understand the value of continuous preparation to achieve overall readiness.

Sessions from AI Cybersecurity to Bringing Your Own SaaS to the Office

Taking us through the day will be a choice of sessions, starting with a look at why effective third-party management is critical for maintaining robust cyber resilience, presented by Nagaswaran Kumaresan, Ph.D., CISSP, CISA, CIA, CGMA, CRISC, Vice President of the London Metal Exchange. He will explore the importance of end-to-end visibility and effective management in third-party governance to improve cyber resilience.

Filip Chyla, CCSP, GSTRT Cybersecurity Shepherd at Xebia will be exploring the challenges of securing cloud-native applications and the strategies cybersecurity professionals can use to tackle them.

Brent Dawson, CISSP, Enterprise Architect at Digital Ducttape and researcher Stephen Cobb, CISSP, with help from ISC2 CISO Jon France, will take an in-depth look at the intersection of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. Together they will explore issues including adoption, ownership of AI-created content, and how AI systems face being both a target for cyber-attacks and used as an attacker.

Adam Bateman, co-founder & CEO, Push Security will tackle one of the biggest challenges facing cybersecurity professionals today, the growth in employee-originated and adopted SaaS in the workplace. Much like the explosion in so-called bring your own device (BYOD), allowing employees to connect their own mobile devices and even their own computers to company systems and data sources, the trend has expanded out to include software and services as well as hardware, increasing the surface for potential cybersecurity attacks and vulnerabilities and creating a far larger and unpredictable IT estate for the organization to contend with.

Ashley Nurcombe, Senior Cyber Security Consultant at Corelight challenges that cloud network monitoring may no longer be relevant in security operations given the growth of encryption, digital transformation from non-IP to IP networks and Zero Trust architectures.

Leadership Learning

In “A View From the Top: Security Leader Perspectives”, attendees will hear from a diverse range of speakers including a senior representative from the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), Alister Shepherd, CISO at the Financial Conduct Authority, Bridget Kenyon, CISSP, CISM, CISO at Shared Services Connected and Dave Cartwright, CISSP, Head of Technology Operations & Risk/CISO at Santander International. Together, this group will be sharing their extensive insights on leadership, cloud security and GRC.

The day will conclude with an ISC2 Insights panel and a networking reception. This is an opportunity for members to hear updates from ISC2 Board and leadership team members, as well as ask questions.
