(ISC)² Names Brian Correia Managing Director for North America Region

Correia has more than 16 years’ experience helping cybersecurity professionals advance their careers

Alexandria, VA, Aug. 8, 2017— (ISC)² today announced Brian Correia has been appointed managing director for the association’s North America region. Correia joined (ISC)² earlier this year as the region’s director of business development. He was responsible for cultivating relationships and creating new growth opportunities within the U.S. and Canada, including developing initiatives that make it easier for government agencies and large enterprises to provide cybersecurity training and certification to their employees. In his new role, he is responsible for managing North American business operations, including sales and member recruitment, business development, government relations and strategic partnerships.

“Brian is an accomplished industry veteran with a proven track record of helping cybersecurity professionals find the services they need to further their careers,” said (ISC)2 CEO David Shearer, CISSP. “Since joining (ISC)², Brian has played an integral role in identifying strategic business opportunities to advance the North America region and its commitment to strengthening and diversifying the information security workforce. He is an exemplary leader furthering our mission.”

"Cybersecurity professionals are tasked with the pressing challenge of protecting our nation and our economy against a constantly evolving threat landscape with a limited workforce and skillset,” said Correia. “Few organizations in the world do as much to empower and advance the cybersecurity profession as (ISC)2. It’s a privilege to join the organization and lead such an outstanding team of dedicated individuals.”

Prior to joining (ISC)², Correia served as the director of business development and venue planning at SANS Institute. He worked at SANS for sixteen years and was involved in divisions responsible for sales, partner relationships, event management, contracts and marketing campaigns. Before working for SANS, Brian spent six years in the trade show industry working on the marketing, speaker bookings, and logistics for military, government, and corporate events. Brian has also served three years on the Starwood Advisory Meetings Board (which comprised of Sheraton, Westin, W Hotels, St. Regis, Four Points, and Luxury Collection) helping to implement new products, marketing, and consulting to one of the leading hospitality companies in the industry. He is a graduate of James Madison University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
