(ISC)² Opens Nominations for Eighth Annual Information Security Leadership Awards

The ISLA® program will recognize cybersecurity leaders during international cybersecurity conference in New Orleans

Clearwater, FL, May 31, 2018(ISC)² – the world’s largest nonprofit association of certified cybersecurity professionals – today announced it is accepting nominations for its eighth annual Information Security Leadership Awards (ISLA) Americas program.

The ISLA Americas are part of the global (ISC)² awards program and recognize information security workforce improvements, projects and initiatives throughout the private and public sectors through the North, South and Central America in the following categories:       

  • Senior Information Security Professional
  • Information Security Practitioner
  • Up-and-Coming Information Security Professional
  • Community Awareness

“The ISLA program is the security profession’s premier recognition for the achievements of cyber, information, software and infrastructure security practitioners in North, South and Central America,” says Brian Correia, (ISC)²’s Managing Director, North America. “A peer-nominated honor, past winners have represented many industries and countries for outstanding accomplishments and dedication to securing their organization’s critical assets – helping us all inspire a safe and secure cyber world. We are looking forward to learning about even more worthy achievements through this year’s nominations.”

The ISLA Americas Judging Committee will be comprised of members of (ISC)²’s North American Advisory Council. Each member of the committee will review the nominations, and the collective judges will select one recipient from each category based upon the selection criteria and eligibility requirements.

Nominations for the Americas ISLA program will be accepted through midnight EDT on June 25. A ceremony and luncheon to honor the finalists and winners will be held during the eighth annual Security Congress on October 9 at the New Orleans Marriott.
