CA OFFERS (ISC)²®'S CISSP® REVIEW SEMINARS AND EXAMINATIONS TO STAFF AND CUSTOMERS
Globally Recognized Information Security Certification Complements CA's Portfolio of Security Management Solutions
PALM HARBOR, Fla., and ISLANDIA, N.Y., October 6, 2004. The International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC)², the non-profit international leader in its 15th year of educating, qualifying and certifying information security professionals worldwide, today announced that Computer Associates International, Inc. (NYSE: CA) is offering review seminars and examinations for the CISSP® (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification to its staff and customers. CA is a worldwide provider of solutions and services for the management of IT infrastructure.
The review seminars and examinations will be conducted by CA Technology Services employees who are (ISC)²-certified instructors, using official (ISC)² educational materials.
(ISC)²'s CISSP is recognized worldwide for meeting the highest standards of information security knowledge and expertise, said James E. Duffy, CISSP, president and chief executive officer of (ISC)². The CISSP credential has been granted certification accreditation from ANSI (American National Standards Institute) in the area of information security under ISO/IEC 17024, the international standard for certification of personnel. ANSI accreditation for ISO confirms (ISC)² as the leader in setting the worldwide standard for certifying information security personnel.
"CA's commitment to the CISSP credential assures customers that their information security staff members are well-trained, dedicated professionals who adhere to a strict code of professional ethics and are the best qualified to manage and deploy information security programs and policies anywhere in the world," Duffy said.
Considered the Gold Standard in cyber-security credentials, the CISSP is awarded by (ISC)² to information security professionals who successfully pass a comprehensive six-hour examination, possess four years cumulative work experience in the field, subscribe to the (ISC)² Code of Ethics, and receive an endorsement from an existing CISSP or equivalent professional. Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits are required to maintain certification.
"With the pressures on enterprise security continuing to grow, fulfilling the demand for qualified security professionals has become a major challenge," said Una O'Neill, senior vice president of CA Technology Services. "By offering globally-accepted CISSP certification, CA is complementing our industry-leading security management solutions portfolio with programs our customers need to enhance the skills of their technology staffs."
"The global need for information security professionals continues to grow, and with more than 100 training venues around the world, CA extends the opportunities for its staff members and customers to earn the internationally recognized CISSP credential," said Claude L. Williams, director, strategic alliances for (ISC)² Institute, the education arm of the consortium. "In addition, CA is a member of (ISC)²'s Trusted CPE Submitter program, which allows constituents to earn CPEs for any CA information security education without audit."
