(ISC)² COVID-19 Readiness

As COVID-19 (coronavirus) impacts our lives and workplaces around the world, (ISC)² is closely monitoring developments and guidance from organizations like the World Health Organization, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, and other local and regional health authorities.

During this unprecedented event, (ISC)² is taking the following steps to help ensure the health and safety of our members, candidates, employees and partners:

(ISC)² Offices and Member Support

Our APAC team began been working remotely in early 2020 without any issues in our ability to support members throughout the region. Our regional managing director for APAC shared his thoughts on working through the health crisis last month. Our global staff is on mandatory work from home for the time being and are prepared to sustain our member support and operations with remote staff.

(ISC)² Exam Development Workshops and Chapter Meetings

All in-person (ISC)² Exam Development Workshops through May 2020 are being rescheduled to later in the year. Members will be notified of any changes, cancelations or new volunteer opportunities directly by the (ISC)² Exams team.

As a reminder, all (ISC)² Chapters are independent entities and not directly managed by the association. We are advising all (ISC)² Chapter leaders to cancel meetings to avoid any unnecessary exposure risk to chapter members and the people they may subsequently come in contact with.

Earn CPEs Online

For members working with employers restricting travel, under government restricted travel, or impacted by canceled conferences or local chapter meetings, we offer a broad array of online, on-demand learning opportunities free to members and associates. (ISC)² provides enriching continuing education courses through the Professional Development Institute, which can be found under My Courses after you log in to www.isc2.org. Also, our award-winning webinar series offer expert-led discussions on a wide range of security topics you can access at https://www.isc2.org/News-and-Events/Webinars.

We also are working hard to add additional free, online content to expand this already rich source of CPE opportunities in the coming weeks to help you meet your CPE needs without having to travel or attend in-person sessions.

(ISC)² Security Congress

Our annual conference is scheduled to take place November 16 - 18 in Orlando, Fla. We will watch developments very closely and follow health authorities’ guidance, but we are still moving ahead with the conference and are very excited about the program we are developing. Attendees who take advantage of early registration prices can cancel by September 4, 2020 and receive a full refund if necessary. We will keep registrants informed of any developments related to Security Congress. Learn more at congress.isc2.org.

Online Exam Preparation

For members pursuing additional certifications who may be under travel restrictions, (ISC)² offers a host of online and on-demand exam preparation courses and materials at www.isc2.org/Training. No in-person Instructor-Led Training Courses have been cancelled due to COVID-19, but we will keep candidates informed of any developments.

Testing Center Closure and Watches

Pearson VUE, our exclusive global partner for administering our certification exams, is keeping candidates apprised of any local impacts and precautions at test centers worldwide. You can learn more at https://home.pearsonvue.com/coronavirus-update.

Stay Safe and Healthy

There are a growing number of online resources with very useful information about COVID-19 developments and how you can protect yourself like www.coronavirus.gov. I urge all members to be vigilant and take all necessary precautions to protect yourself, your families and your colleagues. We will share any future developments and changes to operations if necessary.

Thank you for your membership and all you do every day to inspire a safe and secure cyber world, especially during this challenging situation.
