Chester SoongChester Soong, CISSP-ISSAP, ISSMP, CISA, Member of (ISC)²® Asian Advisory Board and CBK® Committee, Managing Director, Security Consulting Services Ltd.

Chester Soong is the Managing Director of Security Consulting Services Ltd. in Hong Kong. The company focuses on providing leading edge internet and information security consulting services. He was formerly the Director of Certification Services and still serves as member of the Asian Advisory Board and CBK Committee of (ISC)².

He started his own ISP outfit back in 1994, and he was working for Citibank N/A as a Project Officer before that. Chester graduated from California State University, Fullerton with double majors in Information Systems and Finance. He was certified as CISSP in 1997, the first to pass the CISSP exam in Asia.

Chester is a frequent speaker of various regional conferences and exhibitions on the topics of IT development and information security. He holds several public positions in organizations from the industry and government areas, including: member of Information Security Working Group of OGCIO from the HKSAR Government, Member of the WiFi Security Working Group and Consumer Education Programme on Use of Broadband Services Committee of Office of the Telecommunications Authority (OFTA) of HKSARG, and Council member of Hong Kong Information Technology Federation. Chester also served as Committee Member and Lecturer of Professional Diploma Program in “Internet and Information Security” at City University of Hong Kong. He is a member of the Election Committee of the Chief Executive Election of HKSAR Government representing the IT Functional Constituency in 2007, and a member of the group, ITVoice, which represents the IT professionals to protect the democracy and best interests for the IT industry.


Hiroshi Yasuda

Prof. Hiroshi Yasuda, Dr.E, CISSP, Professor, Tokyo Denki University, School of Science Technology for Future Life, Japan

He received the B.E., M.E. and Dr.E. from the University of Tokyo, Japan in 1967, 1969, and 1972 respectively. Then, he had joined the Electrical Communication Laboratories of NTT in 1972. After served twenty-five years (1972-1997), with the last position of Vice President, Director of NTT Information and Communication Systems Laboratories at Yokosuka, he left NTT and has joined The University of Tokyo. He acted Director of The Center for Collaborative Research (CCR) for 2 years (2003-2005), and he is now a professor in Tokyo Denki University.

His study area is applied information technology. He has been involved in works on Video Coding, Image Processing, Tele-presence, B-ISDN Network and Services, Internet and Computer Communication Applications. Now he has started researches on DRM (Digital Rights Management), Network Security and “Kansei” (more human) communication. He is now advocating collaboration between Industries and Academia.

In International Standardizing Area, he had served as the Chairman of ISO/IEC JTC1/SC29 (JPEG/MPEG Standardization) from 1991 to 1999. He had also served as the President of DAVIC (Digital Audio Video Council) from September 1996 to September 1998.

He received 1987 Takayanagi Award, 1995 the Achievement Award of EICEJ, 1995-1996 The EMMY from The National Academy of Television Arts and Science and 2000 Charles Proteus Steinmetz Award from IEEE and also 2005 Takayanagi Award. He is Fellow of IEEE, EICEJ, and IPSJ, a member of Television Institute. He wrote “International Standardization of Multimedia Coding” in 1991, “MPEG/International Standardization of Multimedia Coding” in 1994, “The Base for the Digital Image Coding” in 1995, “The Text for Internet” in 1996, “The Text for MPEG” in 2002 and The Text for Content Distribution” in 2003.


Freddy TanMr Freddy Tan, Chief Security Advisor, Microsoft Asia

Freddy enjoys enabling emerging information communications (infocomm, for short) markets to “level up” their security posture so that they and their communities trust infocomm services. Before Microsoft, Freddy served with the Ministry of Defense, Singapore (MINDEF) and Singapore Armed Forces. In the course of his 25 years with the MINDEF, he was involved in many aspects of in infocomm security ranging from security policy formulation to security monitoring and incident response. During his time at MINDEF, he was also responsible for establishing the Ministry’s 24x7 Computer Security Monitoring & Investigation Centre (COSMIC) and the Singapore Armed Forces Computer Emergency Response Team (SAFCERT).
He has participated as a working committee member on various infocomm security masterplan projects with the Singapore Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (iDA). He was also a member of the Singapore National Infocomm Competency Framework (NICF) Technical Committee. He was awarded the (ISC)² President's Award in 2003 in recognition of his volunteer work with (ISC)².
His currently is involved in the following:

  3. Member, National Infocomm Competency Framework (NICF) Expert Panel

Outside of work, Freddy enjoys recreational scuba diving and volunteers as a local reef guide for Blue Water Volunteers. He also has an interest in military and ancient history.


Jae-Woo LeeDr Jae-Woo Lee, PhD, CISA, CISM, Chair Professor, Graduate School of International Affairs and Information, Dongguk University, Korea

Dr Lee is the chair professor at Dongguk University, Graduate School of International Affairs & Information and president of Cyber Forensic Professional Association in Seoul. He is also President of Cyber Forensic Professional Association in Seoul Korea and Co-chairman of Asian Advisory Board of (ISC)² and senior advisor of Korea Industrial Security Institute.

Dr. Lee graduated from the Korean Air Force Academy, Air University, National Defense College, U.S. Naval Post Graduate School and several other schools. He was a fighter pilot and aero-acrobatics team leader of the Korean Air Force and retired as a major general. He was also a senior member of the military armistice commission in Korea. After his military service, Dr. Lee pursued his career in the information security profession. He holds a master’s of science degree in systems management from the University of Southern California, U.S., and received his doctoral degree from Konkuk University in South Korea.

Dr. Lee was the first president of the Korea Information Security Agency, an organizer of the Korea National Computerization Agency, board member of Korean Governmental Security Committee, and a chairman of the National Information System Security and Audit Committee, the Office of Supreme Public Prosecutor's advisory board, and the Ministry of National Defense advisory board. He received three major medals and presidential awards from the Korean government and the Legion of Merit Medal from the U.S. His writings and published books include "Information System Audit Manual", "Guidelines for Information Systems Security" "System Security Management" and "Cyber Warfare".

Prinya Hom-anek, CISSP, SSCP, CISA, CISM, SANS GIAC GCFW, CompTIA Security+, ITIL Foundation, President & Founder, ACIS Professional Center, Thailand

Mr. Prinya Hom-anek has over sixteen years of Information Technology (IT) specialist and training experience in System Engineer, Data communication, Internet and Network Security System consulting in both public and private sectors. He is recognized as one of Thailand's leading professionals in information systems security with practical experience in delivering high-profile security solutions. Mr.Hom-anek was one of the first Thai IT persons to be accredited as a Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP). He is the first Thailand IT persons who passed the CISSP, SSCP, CISA , CISM and GIAC GCFW.

He is frequently invited as a certified instructor at the national organization and a number of well-known Thai firms such as NECTEC, Software Park Thailand, Bank of Thailand, The Stock Exchange of Thailand, EGAT, PEA, CAT, TOT, Royal Thai Police, Department of Special Investigation (DSI), The Revenue Department, Thai Military Bank, ISACA Bangkok Chapter, Thailand Information Security Association (TISA) and SHIN Corporation (AIS, ThaiCOM), UCOM, Telecom Asia (True Corporation) etc. Mr. Hom-anek has been an honored guest speaker at MCOT (TV Channel9, FM radio 100.5 MHz), Nation Channel and the international vendors such as Microsoft, Cisco Systems, Juniper, McAfee, Tippingpoint, Trend Micro, etc. He is permanent lecturer for the Master Degree students at College of Innovative Education and Thammasat University. He is also a visiting lecturer for the bachelor students in Data communication, Internetworking, Security Systems and e-commerce at Faculty of Computer Engineering, Chulalongkorn University and a visiting lecturer for the Master Program of Computer Science, Faculty of Science, Kasetsart University and the Master Program of National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) in Information Security and IT audit.

Mr. Hom-anek published many Information Security articles in several Thai and English IT magazines and newspapers such as eEnterprise, eLeader, Telecom Journal, Thairath, DailyNews, The Nation and BangkokPost.


Mark AmesMark Ames, CISSP, CISA, CISM, Head of ICT Risk Pty Ltd, Australia

Mark Ames is a risk management and information security consultant with twenty years’ experience in a number of senior roles in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. His specialist skills and experience include: IT security management, strategy and architecture; planning and operations; risk management, compliance and systems auditing; program management and delivery. His customer base includes clients in the finance, telecommunications, government, manufacturing, utilities, and ICT security service sectors.

Mark is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). He holds professional memberships in the Australian Computer Society (ACS), the Australian Information Security Association (AISA), the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), IEEE, and Information Systems Audit & Control Association (ISACA).

Mark has published several peer reviewed papers and many articles. He has delivered over fifty papers and presentations ranging from cryptography to wireless security and all aspects of security management at academic and cryptography conferences, the Open Group, ASG, Interaction, CGMA, AusCERT, ISACA, user groups, as well as commercial conferences.

Mark is currently head of ICT Risk Pty Ltd, a specialist consultancy working in Australia and Asia. Core services include management consulting, risk management, IT audit, business continuity planning, policy development, technical reviews, requirement analysis, and project planning. The customer base includes clients in the finance, manufacturing, utilities, and ICT security service sectors.
